Lot 18 – Nick Park CBE
Chinstrap Penguins Pen, Watercolour, Multimedia 29.7 x 42 cm Framed Signed
Chinstrap penguins are distinguished by, and named for, the narrow band of black feathers, which extends from ear to ear, just below the chin and the cheeks. They breed mainly on the Antarctic Peninsula and on islands in the South Atlantic Ocean. Chinstraps have a large range and their numbers are generally good. However, melting and shifting sea ice could have a detrimental impact on colonies, with studies showing sites on the Antarctic pensinsula decreasing.
Nick Park is a multi award-winning director, animator and producer from Lancashire. He famously created Wallace and Gromit and his company Aardman Animations has won four Oscars. Work includes The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave, Shaun the Sheep, Creature Comforts, Chicken Run and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
