Last weekend, supporter Sarah Ogston-Bernard celebrated her 60th birthday in spectacular style – by jumping out of a plane! Her incredible skydive has already raised over £1,700 for Explorers Against Extinction, supporting our vital wildlife conservation projects.
Here, in her own words, Sarah shares the experience:
**“I turned 60 this year and wanted to mark this momentous occasion. I thought a skydive… why not? I hate heights but love a challenge. Then I thought, why not try and raise some cash for a charity while doing it? I picked Explorers Against Extinction because it’s a smaller charity – I love its values and what it achieves. My passion is animals and the planet and for me it’s important they are protected as much as possible.
We had to wait over 3 hours to jump as the clouds were too low, but finally it was time to go. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done – frightening, exhilarating, amazing. The sensation of being so free, the sense of achievement… so many feelings to have all at once, but absolutely worth them all. Something to always remember and treasure.”**
Thank you, Sarah, for your amazing support – and for proving that 60 is just the beginning of new adventures!
