What is SFS Invitational?
SFS Invitational is the core collection within the Sketch for Survival art initiative and comprises 100+ artworks, including sketches, studio artworks, illustrations and cartoons, all depicting endangered wildlife and wild spaces from around the world.
All the artworks in our core collection are donated by professional and award-winning artists on an invitational basis. In addition, the invitational collection showcases sketches and other artworks donated by our celebrity and explorer supporters.
In the last three years contributors have included Gary Hodges, Karen Laurence-Rowe, Katy-Jade Dobson, Sophie Tea, Julie Cross, Chris McClelland, Anne London, Martin Aveling, Sevina Yates, Jonesy, Annabel Pope, Emily Lamb, Siobhan Barlow and hundred’s of other artists. Celebrity supporters have included explorers Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Levison Wood, actors Dame Judi Dench, Dame Helen Mirren, Bill Nighy, Charlotte Richie, Joanna Lumley, Richard E. Grant and Stephen Fry, animator Nick Park, food writer Mary Berry, author Frederick Forsyth, presenters Rachel Riley, Liz Bonham and Simon Reeve and many more.
In the last three years over £150,000 has been raised and in 2020 we aim to run our most successful campaign to date.
The SFS Invitational collection will be joined by 100 artworks selected by our expert panel from all submissions received to our SFS Introducing competition. Both collections can be viewed during our autumn tour finishing with a week at gallery@oxo on London’s South Bank. All the touring artworks will be sold in aid of Explorers Against Extinction projects by online auction on Sunday 15 November 2020.
Due to the popularity of the initiative, this core collection is on an invitational basis only.
