Art & Photography Supporting Conservation

The Universal Language of Art

Art and photography helps us to bring the issues and themes of conservation vibrantly to life while helping to raise vital funds for our projects.  It can encourage empathy, inspire action and spark debate about a wide range of conservation topics.

We work with artists, photographers and makers all over the world to represent diverse styles. We showcase the work of up and coming artists and encourage children to express themselves through the medium of art.

We are proud to work with some of the world’s leading artists – their pieces provide a powerful call to action.

Sketch for Survival

Professional, amateur and celebrity artists from 114 countries have contributed to our collections to date, helping us to donate over half a million dollars to frontline projects around the world. Art and photography exclusively featuring threatened species and at-risk wild spaces,  are exhibited at prestigious venues to generate profile and funds for our project partners,  and to raise public awareness about a range of integral issues.

Working with Artists

We work with artists in a variety of ways, with a focus on giving new artists a platform to showcase their work.

We’re also proud to collaborate with established artists. Some choose to donate a percentage of sales or proceeds from specific pieces, while others support our Sketch for Survival initiative by donating artwork 100%.

In addition, we partner with artists to create special collections, often on a 50/50 basis—such as On the Brink—and commission bespoke pieces for key campaigns, including our Climate, Communities & Extinction collections.

Campaigning

In November 2021 selected pieces from our Sketch for Survival collection were exhibited at the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow, including a display in the Leaders’ Lounge.

Artworks which were on display at COP26 are loaned out to our corporate supporters for display in boardrooms and reception spaces. They are also used at events and for school visits.

We also exhibited a special collection at the Palace of Westminster in London for a week in April 2024.
