On 22 July in Norwich, Paul Goldstein should have completed 375 miles of his 1,000-mile trek across England in his fabled tiger suit, so he has taken the evening of his precious day off to lecture on endangered animals – something that has burned strongly within him for much of his life.
Wildlife photographer, guide and conservationist Paul has spent more than 35 years trying (and failing) to capture that one image, that one spectacular (10/10) photograph that he knows, deep down, will always elude him. Tigers are probably the toughest quarry of all. He has maybe managed a couple of sevens in his whole life… (his ruthless scoring procedure, not ours).
He has also raised – and continues to raise – literally hundreds of thousands of pounds for endangered species, and his scarred and battered body (and, many would say, mind) is testament to his constant battles with faunal abusers. Last summer, he completed 25 marathons in 25 days for Bengal tigers as part of his 2Legsfor4 campaign.
“Preposterously vivacious, a guide of psychotic gusto.”
The Sunday Times described him as ‘preposterously vivacious’. He has received death threats, is not welcome in some countries, and is a presenter who is passionate, outspoken, provocative and entertaining in equal measure. His latest book, Nine Lives, has been very well received, yet still had to go past the publishers’ lawyers. Twice.
You’ve been warned. We look forward to seeing you for what promises to be a memorable – and vigorous – evening. Ticket link below.
You are also cordially invited to join him as he walks through Norwich the following day and beyond. For full details of the route please visit 2 Legs for 4.
Funds raised through the 2 Legs for 41000 mile walking challenge and associated events will support tiger conservation initiatives
